I have been doing upkeep on products that I have bought and logged the information of, and I feel the need to express my concerns with edits coming from the new MacroFactor app.
My biggest concerns are the seemingly random deletion of nutritional values on products, as well as the insertion of ones that simply do not exist. I am aware that it is entirely possible for the nutrition facts to be updated since I last edited the product, but it’s impossible to tell considering that the majority of the time, there are no new photos provided of the product to back up the removal and addition of these values.
I have also noticed that regarding the Nutrition Facts segment where most edits are made, seemingly all values are changed to grams whenever a MacroFactor user makes an edit, leading to bizarre values. For example, a product that has 2 mcg of Vitamin D will have the amount field changed to “2e-6” grams.
I’d appreciate any and all help, as it has been a chore cleaning things up to match how the values were before the MacroFactor edits to the product.
Edit: I would also like to add that I have seen multiple times where the MacroFactor will add already-existent English values in a new “Unknown Language” field.
