Editing barcodes in existing products

Hello!

I have recently started using an app tied to the Open Food Facts database, and consequently started using it and the native app to add products to the database.

But due to rush and/or awkward packaging, a few barcodes were scanned wrong by me. Usually I notice these errors, but a couple have slipped in - I have noticed that only later, when I couldn’t find same product by scanning them.

I looked, but wasn’t able to find any information on editing barcodes. Or removing products - for a more drastic solution. Or, maybe, merging several products into a single item?

Is there any solution for that problem?

Hi @kirillmukhin and welcome

I think only moderators can rename barcodes. But you may post here the products you want to rename and/or on the slack in the #contributors channel.

Thanks for the tip! Items were fixed.

Hello,

Sort of same issue here, I scanned a barcode and didn’t check if the scan result was correct.

Barcode result is 3790760 (Riz gluant) and should’ve been 3379140600454 which already exists in the database. Delete 3790760 entry maybe ?
