How can I add prices to products from shop, that never was added to OSM?

I have 4-5 receipts from some shop that never was added to OSM. Now this shop doesn’t exist anymore. According to their policy I can’t add historical data to OSM. Their project is used only for real and actual data (OpenStreetMap),

OpenStreetMap is a place for mapping things that are both real and current

What it doesn’t include is opinionated data like ratings, historical or hypothetical features, and data from copyrighted sources.

so there is no any way how I can add it to their map. Is there any other way to add shop to OpenPrices DB or when some shop doesn’t exist anymore, then it is impossible to add prices for it as well? Then it is quite disappointing, because there are many shops that never weren’t added to OSM and there is a great chance, that people have receipts from them. Especially it can be relevant for people, who keep all their receipts for many years, and if they want to add data from them to OP it will be problematic. This policy harms project possibility for collecting old receipts in general.

Hey Libra,

I don’t think that right know adding prices for store that are not on OSM is possible unfortunately.

The use case you describe though, is not really something I see bring us a lot of data. In my limited experience most contributions are submitted during or right after a grocery store trip.

I’ll defer to @raphael0202 for a more expert perspective.

Hello!
That’s a very relevant use-case. We were discussing the possibility to add receipts for shops that don’t have (yet) an OSM ID, so that we can bulk upload easily receipts.
But it would also unlock the possibility to upload receipts for shops that no longer exists.

I created a discussion on the Github repo: Support uploading proofs for shops that are not on OSM · openfoodfacts/open-prices · Discussion #1187 · GitHub
