Product translations. How and when?

As it happens with brands I don’t understand at all when and how product translations should be added. The guidelines in the app say I don’t need to add languages, that are not on product packaging. OK, that’s good and logical recommendation, but still there are really many unclear and uncovered cases, that I don’t know how to behave in them.

Case 1. English name on packaging, but only for product name on front side, while all other info is in other language

Products barcode: 7290118203346

On front sides this product has English name only β€œLotion Facial Tissues”, but it is sold in Israel and Poland only, because it is Super-Pharm’s product and this store works only in Israel and Poland and as far as I know, in both countries English is not official language. So all legal and other details are specified in Hebrew and Polish and not specified in English and English is possibly chosen because of the marketing reasons. What should I do in this case?

  • Should English be added at all?
  • What should be added as front pictures for Hebrew and Polish languages? Should it be a picture with product name in these languages, even if in fact it is not a front picture? Or should I set a picture with English name, because it is the only one existing front picture, even if it doesn’t have translations to these languages? Or shouldn’t I add anything at all?

Case 2. Some product has a front packaging in language x, other additional info in this language and this additional info is translated to many languages as well

Product barcode: 4607003120917

  • Is it enough additional information to be translated to add translation to some product? This product has only Russian translation on its front packaging, but on back side all info is translated to Azerbaijani, English, Hebrew, Armenian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Romanian, Uzbek languages. Should they be added as translations? If so, then again what should be set as front side picture for all these languages: picture with Russian, picture with translated name and info even if it is not front picture or nothing?
  • In Russian language, I guess for marketing reasons again, on front side it is written as "Nachos β€œΠΠ΅ΠΆΠ½Π΅ΠΉΡˆΠΈΠΉ сыр’” (English name/Latin script + Russian part, that describe its flavor). In the same time on the back side with all other additional info it is written as β€œΠ§ΠΈΠΏΡΡ‹ ΠΊΡƒΠΊΡƒΡ€ΡƒΠ·Π½Ρ‹Π΅ β€œΠΠ°Ρ‡ΠΎΡβ€ со вкусом сыра”. Here Nachos is written in Russian already, but it is not exactly same name. In addition what is product name in fact? This back side name or what is written in front side is product name? Which one should be used/preferred?

Case 3. Translation with a separate sticker and not on the product packaging itself.

Product barcode: 0043427182034

To be clear: It is not sold in stores specialized on foreign products. It is just imported products and this practice of translation is widely used for them.

  • Should be translations like these be added? If no, then why? If yes, then how?

Case 4. What is enough to add a translation?

Product barcode: 4603976000393

All information is in English only, but the back side has a small box with product name/category translation to 10-20 languages. So is this small box enough to add all these languages as translations?
