A braveheart paediatrician, Dr Sivaranjani Santosh, fought for 8 years against sugar-rich drinks falsely marketed as ORS despite numerous threats.
The term ORS now cannot be used anymore on any food or beverage label unless it conforms to the (WHO)-recommended Oral Rehydration Salts (ORS) formula.
